Airplanes are such a good place to make art: pregnant with perspective, belongings, cold food, snores, business class and babies. Overbooked and packed. Heavy and lifted between passengers’ dreams. A miniature between worlds. Many films at once. Beautiful and controlled up in the sky.
‘11 Hours of Clouds’ is the umbrella title for a collection of works which happen both inside the airplane, in actual flights between Amsterdam and Guayaquil and down from the sky, in continental land, inhabiting the mental space of the airplane: a space of suspension, perspective from the structures that rule our lives and fluid thinking, like clouds.

Vliegtuigen zijn een goede plek om kunst te maken: zwanger van perspectief, bezittingen, koude maaltijden, gesnurk, businessclass en baby's. Overboekt en volgepakt. Zwaar en toch verheven tussen de dromen van passagiers. Een miniatuur tussen werelden. Veel films tegelijk. Prachtig en beheerst hoog in de lucht.
‘11 Hours of Clouds’ is de overkoepelende titel van een verzameling werken die plaatsvinden zowel in het vliegtuig, tijdens echte vluchten tussen Amsterdam en Guayaquil, als beneden vanuit de lucht, op continentale grond, waar de mentale ruimte van het vliegtuig wordt bewoond: een impasse, perspectief los van de structuren die ons leven beheersen, en vloeiend denken, zoals wolken.
