In dit project werken kunstruimte ARTisBOOK en ontwerper Annelys de Vet langdurig samen met een diverse groep Groningers om in kaart te brengen wat "thuis zijn" in onze provincie betekent.
Om dit project af te trappen zal Annelys de Vet op 3 oktober 2024 (18.00-19.15, inloop vanaf 17.45) haar visie op de atlas delen tijdens een lezing in de Groene Zaal van Academie Minerva (Praediniussingel 59). De lezing is in het Nederlands, en het evenement wordt gemodereerd door Sherlock Telgt. Aansluitend openen we om 19:30 uur de expositie "Towards the Subjectieve Atlas of Groningen" in ARTisBOOK (Westerhavenstraat 14, om de hoek van Minerva), met eten en drinken. Deze tentoonstelling duurt tot en met 26 oktober.
NB: mocht je niet bij de lezing aanwezig kunnen zijn, dan kan je direct aansluiten in ARTisBOOK. De deuren openen om 19.00, het gezelschap vanuit Minerva sluit om 19.30 aan.
Een Subjectieve Atlas is een publicatie die door de inwoners zelf wordt vormgegeven, gebaseerd op persoonlijke verhalen en ervaringen, in plaats van op externe beeldvorming. De publieke enquête over aardbevingsschade in Groningen heeft één ding duidelijk gemaakt: er is veel te weinig geluisterd naar de bewoners uit de provincie zelf. Na een periode van verhalen over Groningen, willen we daarom nu als Groningers de zeggenschap over de beelden en narratieven die de provincie vormen in eigen handen nemen. Voor het ontwikkelen van de atlas werken we samen met partnerorganisaties, waaronder Academie Minerva, Basisschool St. Willibrordus (Oude Pekela), Dorpsvereniging Oudeschip, Kraaienest (Groningen), en Stichting De Vrolijkheid (AZC Delfzijl).

In this project, art space ARTisBOOK and designer Annelys de Vet are working closely with a diverse group of Groningers to map out what "being at home" means in our province.
To kick off this project, Annelys de Vet will share her vision for the atlas during a lecture on October 3, 2024 (from 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM, with doors open from 5:45 PM) in the Green Hall of Minerva Academy (Praediniussingel 59). The lecture will be in Dutch (but an English text and whisper translation are available), and the event will be moderated by Sherlock Telgt. Following this, at 7:30 PM, we will open the exhibition “Towards the Subjective Atlas of Groningen” at ARTisBOOK (Westerhavenstraat 14, around the corner from Minerva), with food and drinks. This exhibition runs through Oct. 26.

A Subjective Atlas is a publication shaped by the residents themselves, based on personal stories and experiences, rather than external representations. The public survey on earthquake damage in Groningen made one thing clear: there has been far too little listening to the residents of the province. After a period of stories about Groningen, we now want to, as Groningers, take control of the images and narratives that shape the province. To develop the atlas, we are collaborating with partner organizations, including Minerva Academy, St. Willibrordus Primary School (Oude Pekela), the Oudeschip Village Association, Kraaienest (Groningen), and Stichting De Vrolijkheid (AZC Delfzijl).
